5. Kindness and dealing with individuals well are valuable, but politeness may be violent if it masks normalized oppression. Naming oppression, even though done carefully, just isn’t constantly regarded as being ‘nice’ because it pushes straight right back at status quo methods for relating, seeing, and reasoning.
